Okay, I laughed at that much more than I probably should have.

Also, I just lost four hours of my life trying to solve it, but evidently either I suck at (T)sudoku all the sudden, you made this puzzle up without an actual feasable solution in mind, or there is one and you just have to be seriously Minesweeper-good at wild guessing when actual logic fails to eliminate things in a linear path like I'm used to.

Edit: On second thought, after four more hours of my life, I think I got it. :D There was definitely a Minesweeper-like series of guesses near the beginning, so I just had to keep trying different combinations and working them through until finding one that didn't end in a gigantic nuclear fireball of contradiction.

Second edit: Just because it's worth mentioning, after about the third attempt, I came to the conclusion that I hate drawing Ancient Marshy. :(

The sudoku generator I used said it was only "medium" difficulty, but I didn't double-check to make sure it wasn't being evil. Sorry it wasted so much of your life, but on the other hand, I think the goatee is a good look for ancient marshy ;)

That would be...like...mid-ancient marshy, I guess. Not quite ancient yet but old enough to know better.

DON'T JUDGE ME. :(

OK I just ate my own dog food. Took me about an hour and a half, but no guessing was needed. I used the rules:
- basic elimination
- only one square in row/col/box with number n possible, number n must go in that square
- two or three possible n's in row/col and same box that are the only possible n's in that box, eliminate all other possible n's from that row/col
- two or three possible n's in box and same row/col that are the only possible n's in that row/col, eliminate all other possible n's from that box
- one weird special case in which a spot had two possibilities, and for each of those, i could eliminate the same possibility from a far-away box.

I'm sure I've described these in an impossibly confusing way. Unfortunately, I didn't record my step-by-step solution.

of course i just did it with numbers because i'm way too lazy to draw the characters that many times :)

sleep helps. i took three hours to get halfway through it last night, and just spent about ten minutes solving the rest.

i just cut and pasted though

You... you copy/pasted circle. I suck at drawing Ancient Marshy (unless the goatee really is a good look, I guess) but I'm pretty sure I was okay with circle. D:
